The 17th annual Fraser Valley Cultural Diversity Awards gala is taking place next month in Abbotsford.

As part of a presentation of Abbotsford Community Services, the awards are presented to individuals, organizations and businesses who have made a contribution to increasing diversity in the community. It is given to those residing or working in Chilliwack, Abbotsford, Mission and Langley. This popular event usually sells out in advance.

Guests will enjoy a sit-down dinner and an awards presentation. The six awards that will be handed out are Effective Human Resources Strategies, Inclusive Environment, Innovative Initiative, Champion of Diversity (18+), Youth Champion of Diversity (ages 12 to 17) and Marketing.

The gala is also an opportunity for business and community leaders from all four communities to meet and learn from one another. It may even result in future partnerships that will aid in their diversity.

Sponsorships are available from $500 up to $10,000. High-end sponsors will have the opportunity to speak at the event and all will be listed in the event program that everyone will receive.

Abbotsford stationery printers often provide the programs for events like this.

The Fraser Valley Cultural Diversity Awards gala will be held at the Quality Hotel and Conference Centre on March 14 from 6:00 to 9:30 PM. Tickets are $67 each until February 15. Contact Patricia Driessen at 604-308-5673 for more information.
