Calgary kitchen party to bring taste of east

Lively events filled with music and laughter are a well-loved Newfoundland tradition. Both Newfie expats and those who just love to have a great time have been invited to come to a Calgary celebration that will capture the spirit of an east coast kitchen party.

Greg Beck, Rae Anne Langdon and Darlene and John Loney have joined forced to plan and host a Newfoundland style kitchen party. Guests can even participate in a traditional “screeching in”, where they down a shot of this potent drink and kiss a codfish upside down, making them honourary Newfies for the night.

The ticket price for the occasion will include the food and drinks, and, just as is typical for a Newfie style party, there will be lots of music and laughter. Those who purchase a pass to attend are asked to make sure that they have a safe ride to and from the festivities, which will begin at 7:00 pm and run until 10:30 pm.

Tickets for this taste of a night in the country’s youngest province are being sold for $75.00. A banner that welcomes guests to such a celebration can be created by a banner printing company in the local area.

March 1st has been chosen as the date for the Newfoundland Kitchen Party. The exact location will be communicated upon registration.
