St. Catharines preparing for annual parade

October 20, 2018 by

The holiday season is fast approaching, and in St. Catharines, that means it is almost time for a yearly event that brings the community together to kick off the festivities.

Applications are currently being accepted for this year’s Santa Claus parade. Local businesses, not-for-profit groups and individuals who would like to march in the parade or enter a float can complete and submit their application. Those who do will be asked to provide some details about both themselves and the submission they intend to enter.

Volunteers are also needed to ensure that the procession takes place without any problems. They will help with set up and tear down, and also manage traffic along the parade route. A printing services provider will be able to offer a variety of products, including volunteer T-shirts and lanyards, which can help to ensure that this sort of large event runs smoothly.

Once the parade is complete, there will be a post party with face painting and crafts for the kids as well as pony rides, concessions, and a chance to visit with Santa. There will also be a free skate, and this will be held in the Meridian Centre.

This community event will be taking place on November 18, starting at 1:00 pm. It will set out from McGuire Street, and more information is available on the city’s website.
