Vancouver workshop to provide an introduction to stained glass making

A workshop is on offer in Vancouver that will provide an introduction to stained glass making for those who are new to the art form.

Each person who participates in the class, which has been organized by Awesome Sauce Designs, will craft their very own monster suncatcher using the copper foil method. The instruction will be provided using hands on methods, and no prior experience in working with this medium is needed to enjoy the event.

Instruction will be provided in cutting the glass, using a glass grinder, and also in how to solder. Once the body of the monster has been completed, the attendees will paint the face on theirs using glass paint. Each piece will have its own “adoption certificate” where the creator can add detailed description. The registration fee for the session is $75, and this includes all of the materials needed to complete the project.

Anyone who is age 12 or older is welcome to participate, but children will need to be accompanied by an adult. Copies of instructional handouts for this sort of occasion can be provided by area stationery printers.

The Stained Glass Monster Workshop for those who are new to the craft will be held on October 20. It will take place at 780 East Cordova Street, and more information is available on its event listing.
