Big Bike ready to roll in St. Catharines

Heart disease and stroke are two health concerns faced by many Canadians, and a St. Catharines’ fundraiser will seek to make a difference.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Big Bike will be rolling into town, and local businesses and organizations are invited to lace up their sneakers and hop aboard. The 2000-pound pedal powered vehicle has seats for 30 people, and each group will be asked to fund raise beforehand.

Each ride is scheduled to run for 20 minutes, and the bike will follow a route that will take it through the community. Riders are welcome to wear a company t-shirt or other branded clothing, and the organizers noted that once it gets rolling, pedaling the vehicle isn’t too difficult. All those who plan on adding their feet to the pedaling power must be at least 14 years old and will have to be able to climb onto their seat with no assistance.

Any business or group that is scheduled for a trip on the Big Bike are welcome to display their company name and logo while they do. Banner printing services for an occasion like this can be sourced form a printer in the local area.

This opportunity to combine fun with fundraising will be taking place on August 22nd. The planners can be contacted through the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s website for more information.
