Skies over Abbotsford to be filled with excitement

The Abbotsford International Air Show is taking place next month over three days.

The show will feature a large number of both civilian and military aircraft. There will be both air and static displays of some historic airplanes. Among the groups performing in the air will be the US Navy Blue Angels, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, the Skyhawks Parachute Demonstration Team and the F8F Bearcat of the Historic Flight Foundation. Static displays will include the Luftwaffe Airbus A400M, the Douglas A4J Skyhawk and Vintage Wings Canada’s Spitfire Mk 1X.

Adult guests can sit in the Grandstand: A Craft Beer Experience where they will get to sample a variety of local beers while enjoying the air show. Tickets are $30 which includes one 12-ounce beer. In addition, jump seats are $5 and VIP reserved seating is $75 and includes two beers. VIP President Club tickets are also available from $160 up to $1,060.

For the children, the Kids’ Zone will feature a number of inflatables and a climbing wall. Other activities include Science World which will be investigating the science of flight, a fireworks display and virtual reality demonstrations. Food and drink will be provided by several concessions and food trucks.
