Newmarket getting ready to ring in the New Year

November 29, 2017 by

This New Year’s Eve, Newmarket’s Magna Centre will be the site for a community celebration that has been planned to be both family friendly and fun.

The festivities, which will kick off at 5:00 pm, will include both free skating and swimming for area families and individuals, and there will also be a variety of performers who will keep the partygoers entertained while they bid 2017 a fond farewell. Along with this, there will be other activities to participate in, and refreshments will be available.

At 9:00, the crowd will be invited to go outdoors so they can take in the fireworks show on the agenda for this First Night celebration. All of the different activities are being offered free of charge to the community, and the festivities are being brought to Newmarket, in part, through the support and assistance of Tim Horton’s.

The organizers of this event have asked anyone with questions about the night to call 905-895-5193 or email They also encourage everyone who plans on attending to use green transport, such as carpooling, cycling, public transit or walking. A variety of branded ad specialties to give out during a large function like this can be both designed and prepared by a local printer.

This family friendly New Year party will be held on December 31 at 800 Mulock Drive.
