Calgary invited to ring in the New Year Jamaican style

November 14, 2017 by

Calgary residents will have a chance to beat the cold this New Year’s Eve by coming to a celebration that will provide them with a taste of Jamaica right in their own backyard.

The Jamaican Canadian Association of Alberta will be throwing a party that will greet 2018 in island style. Guests will enjoy a dinner of rice and peas, jerk chicken or roast beef, a medley of vegetables and other dishes, and there will also be a variety of wines available. Pre-dinner cocktails will be served, and some of the attendees will be selected to win a door prize at the end of the function.

Eclipse Sounds will be providing the music for the night, and the cocktail hour is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm. The suggested attire for the occasion is formal, and at midnight, there will be a champagne toast with party favours for the partygoers. A printer will be able to use its wide format printing technology to craft banners, decorations, signs and other items for a celebration like this.

The festivities will be taking place in the Executive Royal Hotel, and those who plan on coming to the event have been offered a special room rate for the night. Anyone who plans on taking advantage of this has been asked to mention the gala when they book their stay.

This Jamaican-themed New Year gala will be held on December 31, and the ticket price is $80. Anyone who wants to know more can contact the organizer through its website.
