Local expo calling all volunteers

November 11, 2017 by

An Ottawa-based Volunteer Expo will connect locals interested in giving back to their community with the foundations and charities in need of their help.

All area residents, including experienced volunteers, as well as those that have never come forward before, are invited to attend this event. Designed to help identify the right opportunity for each person, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with spokespersons from charities and nonprofit foundations who are seeking volunteers.

In addition to helping out people in need in the city, volunteering can also provide career building skills and experience. Helpers are needed in a variety of areas, including the arts, social justice and the environment. Admission to the expo is free for volunteers.

Organized by Volunteer Ottawa (VO), member organizations may attend this event free of charge. Nonmember organizations will be charged an $85 fee. Brochures and promotional products may be printed and distributed during an expo like this if desired.

Foundations and charities in attendance will have the unique opportunity to meet with potential volunteers face to face, before they begin their work with your organization. The expo also allows VO members to connect with each other, sharing their best practices while discussing the important work they are doing within the community of Ottawa.

The Volunteer Expo is scheduled for Thursday, November 23, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at the Jean Pigott Place in the Ottawa City Hall, located at 110 Laurier Avenue West.
