Burnaby event to show its rivers some love

Many consider Burnaby and area rivers to be something to celebrate, and an event will be held that will shine a spotlight on these bodies of water and the role they play in both the natural and man made world.

The Burnaby Village Museum will be marking World Rivers Day will a special event that will be family friendly and offer excitement that’s also educational for people all ages. There will be entertainment on hand giving live performances throughout the day, as well as an assortment of demonstrations and displays related to rivers, their ecosystems and the plants and animal that call them home. There will also be hands on activities for the kids, and both the Carousel and Village will be open to the public as well.

This year will be the 37th year that the province has celebrated BC Rivers Day, and the museum’s efforts will be part of a larger World Rivers Day, which is being celebrated across the globe.
