Orangeville’s dream for an expanded hospital soon to come true

October 28, 2015 by

Residents of Orangeville and the surrounding area are getting closer to having a hospital with expanded space and services.

Headwaters Health Care Centre has released a

Request for Proposals (RFP) to the teams that it has placed on the shortlist of candidates for the expansion. There are five different groups that were put on the list of potential bidders for this large infrastructure project. They include Bondfeild Construction Company, Dineen Construction Corporation, Merit Contractors Niagara, Buttcon Limited and also Newgen Construction Corporation.

All of these businesses were considered to be qualified to take on a job that is as large as this one is expected to be. A business that provides wide format printing services will be able to provide large size renderings of the artist’s concept sketches of what the new facilities will look like. These can be used during meetings with the public and other stakeholders.

The expansion will provide additional space within the facility to provide services such as chemotherapy and infusion, minor suturing, biopsies and other treatments, and also more room for clinic such as orthopedics. There will also be added space for health education and telemedicine. The current facility will be revamped to add an additional operating room and expanded area for pre and post-surgery patient care.

The project will be paid for, in part, by using some of the monies raised during the hospital’s “Commitment to Care” campaign.
