Woodstock residents asked to help fill food bank

April 25, 2017 by

Realtors from Woodstock and the communities that surround it are hoping the public will be generous and support its efforts to fill the shelves of the local food bank.

Volunteers will be going door-to-door to canvas donations of non-perishable food, and have organized the event in a way they hope will make lending hand as easy as possible. All people who wish to contribute need to do is put their donation out on their front step or porch in a box or bag labeled “Food Drive”, and the volunteers will pick them up. They will then be transported to the Salvation Army, which make sure they reach members of the community in need.

The organizers are seeking volunteers willing to collect the donations. Positions are available in both Woodstock and Ingersoll, and any assistance needed will be provided. Postcard printing can be used to create notices about the event that can be direct mailed to each household in the community, which can help to ensure that as much as possible is collected for the food bank.

The Realtors Care food drive will take place on May 3. Anyone who would like to contribute is asked to put their items outside by 6:00 pm on that date for pick up. Additional information, and also contact details for the volunteer coordinators, can be found on the events listing.
