Wintertime will be time for wine in Calgary

January 7, 2017 by

Wine aficionados from across Calgary and the surrounding areas are invited to indulge their love of this diverse beverage during 2017 Winefest Calgary.

Ticketholders will have an opportunity to sample and learn more about wines from all over the world while they enjoy a selection of hors d’oeuvres and other small bites created by local eateries.

Both the afternoon and evening sessions will follow a cocktail reception style, with servers carrying trays of appetizers through the crowd a stationery serving stations set up as well. Every ticketholder will be given their very own customized wine glass, and a printer will be able to design and produce custom drinkware for a festive event such as this.

The event is being held in support of the Calgary Food Bank, and everyone who comes out is asked to bring along a donation of a nonperishable food item. The organizers will add to the impact of the attendee’s contributions by donating $1 for each pound of food collected, and they will also top off cash donations by 25%. Every person who makes a contribution will be eligible to have their name entered to win a Food Bank prize.

The three sessions of the 2017 Winefest Calgary will be held over February 24 and 25, and ticket prices start at $79 each. Anyone who would like to purchase theirs or find out more about the event can do so by visiting its website.
