Winnipeg event to focus on mental health in the workplace

October 7, 2016 by

Mental health is an issue that many workplaces face, and a seminar has been planned for Winnipeg to give employers a set of tools they can use to help address the topic in the work environment they manage.

The half-day workshop, which has been arranged and will be facilitated by Facilitated Solutions, will provide those who take part with an overview of the topic of mental health. According to the organizer, across the country, mental illness is one of the leading sources of workplace disability, and the training session will give leaders skills they can put to use in their daily duties.

A variety of topics will be covered, including an understanding of mental health and how it can impact employees. Participants will also learn how to talk about the subject in a respectful way and what to do should they have a concern about one of their staff members or colleagues. A poster printing company can be used by employers to create an assortment of promotional materials that can raise awareness of this topic in the workplace they manage.

The Mental Health at Work workshop will be held on December 7 at 141 Marion St. in Winnipeg. It is scheduled to run from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm, and the cost to take part is $199.50 each.

More information and an opportunity to register can be found on the event’s website.
