Wines, beers and more to be on tap for special event

The Kinsmen have planned an event for Saskatoon that will showcase wines, beers and food from across the province, all in an effort to help those in need.

Top of the Hops Grapes and Grains will feature more than 200 beers, wines and distilled spirits, all of which will be available for sampling. Guests can choose to attend both the dinner and sampling portions of the event, or the sampling alone. According to the function’s organizers, it will be one of the largest events of its kind in the city, and it will give those who attend an opportunity to taste some of the rarer wines, beers and spirits.

Along with the three evenings dedicated to sampling beverages and small plate dishes, there will be a winemakers’ dinner, which will be held a week before the Top of the Hops. It will consist of a five-course, plated meal, and each of the courses will be accompanied with a specially selected beer, wine or spirit pairing. Custom drinkware can be designed by a printer for use during a celebration such as this.

The tasting evening of the Top of the Hops Grapes and Grains festival has been planned for May 25th, 26th and 27th, while the dinner will be held on May 18th. Monies raised will be used to help support Farm in the Dell and other projects through the local community. Additional details, as well as an opportunity to purchase tickets, have been made available on the event’s website.
