What’s On Woodstock celebrates five great years

January 15, 2012 by

The City of Woodstock’s community services guide, What’s On Woodstock, has just completed five successful years of bringing community events, announcements and programs to your doorstep. The colourful magazine is overflowing with information that invites you to get involved in the community.

The January, 2012, issue marks the beginning of the sixth year of publication and it includes something for everyone – from the opening of WAG, Woodstock Art Gallery, to the monthly activities for the South Gate Centre for active adults, to the winter programs for recreational swimming and lessons. Information relevant to residents such as Woodstock Hydro’s time-of-use pricing and timing structure is also included with internet links for more details. Events scheduled for Family Literacy day on January 21st are outlined such as Story Time featuring local celebrities, the ever-popular Paws 4 Stories with Clifford the Big Red Dog, as well as a presentation by Werner Zimmermann, award-winning author and illustrator of over 16 children’s books.

Apart from the informative articles, the advertisements are business and community-focussed. Ads for golf lessons, volleyball games, grief counselling, conference facilities, dance instruction and winter carnival week can be found throughout the magazine. The combination of the articles and the ads gives a well-rounded impression of the types of activities and events going on in Woodstock.

Copies of the magazine can be picked up at City Hall or you can download them from www.woodstock.on.ca. People who don’t have a printer can download the PDF file and Email part or all of it to a print company for copies.
