Upcoming luncheon honors all women

The International Women’s Day luncheon in Coquitlam is taking place next month. It is a presentation of the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce.

The event honors International Women’s Day, which was designated by the United Nations in 1977 and is celebrated in many countries. Both women and men are welcome to attend this celebration.

The keynote speaker for the day will be Janet Houston of the YWCA Metro Vancouver. There will also be a panel discussion moderated by CITY TV’s Cathy Cena that will feature Lisa Beecroft from Caffe Divano, Lora Covinha of Phoenix Truck and Crane, and Sheila Sharma from the Giggle Dam Dinner Theatre. No doubt discussion will include wage parity and other issues of interest to working women.

This is a good networking opportunity for Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce members and nonmember businesses in the area. There will be plenty of chances to briefly discuss individual businesses and to exchange custom business cards.

It is likely that many of the people planning to attend will be placing a new order for digital business cards with their favorite Coquitlam printing company.

The International Women’s Day luncheon will be held at Cineplex Cinemas Coquitlam on March 8 from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Tickets are $40 for Chamber members and $55 for nonmembers. To learn more about this event, contact Stephanie Mah at 604-464-2716.
