Upcoming event will showcase North Shore youths

City Fest is taking place in North Vancouver next month, presented by Youth of the North Shore.

This is a celebration for the youth of the area, but people of all ages are welcome to attend. There will be performances by local musicians and a dance showcase, along with a skateboard and longboard competition that anyone can enter. Participants under the age of 19 must have their application signed by a parent or guardian.

There will also be free photo booths, a BBQ, food concessions, and games with prizes.

There are also two showcases taking place. The Visual Arts Showcase will feature the artwork of youth between the ages of 10 and 14. Applications are still being accepted until April 30. The next is a film contest for youth. The entries will be viewed at Centennial Theatre during the festival. Each film must be three to five minutes in length and have a family-friendly theme. These are also being accepted until April 30.

Flyers are often used to advertise events in the North Vancouver area, since they are inexpensive to produce and easy to distribute in the community.

City Fest will be held at City Skate Park on May 6 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Admission is free. For the most up-to-date information, visit the event’s Facebook page.
