The Wienerfest Home County Festival is taking place later this month. It is a fundraising event for Tiny Paws Dog Rescue.

The festival is dedicated to the Dachshund and will offer lots of activities for the dogs and their owners. This year’s ambassador is Cynder the Chaotic Dachshund.

Over 100 exhibitors will be on hand to sell arts and crafts, food and beverages. There will be an adult Dachshund race, one for honorary Doxies and a Dachshund puppy race. There will be lots of contests taking place during the day including Bobbing for Wieners for dogs, a costume contest and yogurt licking. Judges will also award prizes for who traveled the furthest, who is the smallest, who is the biggest and who has the most unique coloring.

There are also set to be Doxie Agility demonstrations and a lure course.

The festival is set to attract Dachshund owners from all over the area as well as those who are fans of this breed of dog. In order to spread the word to nearby communities such as Woodstock, organizers will likely invest in flyer printing services.

The Wienerfest Home County Festival will be held at Embro Community Centre on June 24 from 9:00am to 4:00pm. For more information about the festival, to volunteer or to become a sponsor, call 519-421-8131.
