Toronto’s 2011 Marketing Awards Gala

The 89th annual Marketing Awards gala will be held on June 15, 2011 at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto. The awards are to

“celebrate the best advertising and communications from across Canada.”

There are three categories for awards: social media, branded content and experimental and event marketing. The entries were judged on how they represent Canada internationally and how forward looking their designs or campaigns are. The co-chairs of the Marketing Awards gala are Christina Brown from Cloudraker and Shawn King from the Extreme Group. The judges are several industry professionals from across Canada and the US.

Each first place winner will receive the Marketing “M” award. In addition, one entry from the winners in each category will be name Best of show. This winner will be entered in the Cannes International Advertising Festival. There is also a Judges’ Choice Craft award which will be given in such categories as art direction, cinematography, illustration and copywriting.
