Timmins public invited to bowl for a cause

An upcoming Timmins event will give the public a chance to enjoy a day of bowling while they raise money in support of a not-for-profit group.

The Canadian Diabetes Association has planed the function, which will be held at Mid Town Bowl. For just $5, each person will receive their shoe rental and a string of bowling, and special Family Bowl deals have also been made available for groups with two adults and two children. One dollar from each individual ticket, and two from each family pack will be donated to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

Bowling is not the only fun that is on the agenda for the day. There will also be face painting, games, and a coloring contest for the kids, while the adults can have their names entered to win the giveaways and draws that will be held as part of the event. People who plan on taking part are asked to bring along a nonperishable food donation to have their name entered into the drawings. Flyers can be used to effectively promote a community-based events such as this throughout the local area.

The Family Day Rock and Bowl for a Cause fundraiser has been planned for February 20. It will be held in Mid-Town Bowl, which is located at 70 Algonquin Boulevard in Timmins. Additional details can be obtained by calling Julie at 705-267-1191.
