Time to tidy up in Newmarket

April 29, 2017 by

The town of Newmarket will be entering into the spirit of the season by hosting a spring cleanup, and is asking residents of the community to lend a helping hand.

Those who sign up to participate in the annual Community Clean Up, which will be back for its 39th year, will have an opportunity to tidy their own area. Volunteers will meet at the town offices, where they will be given gloves and garbage bags before selecting their work area on the map provided and heading out. They can then go to their own home neighborhood and clean up litter and other debris from the local parks, road sides and other public spaces. A printer can use wide format printing to produce copies of maps for an event such as this.

Once the working portion of the day is over, the fun will begin. Volunteers will be treated to a barbecue-style luncheon, and there will also be face painting, balloon animals, and other entertainment for the kids. It will give people a chance to meet their neighbors and enjoy a spring afternoon.

The community cleanup event has been scheduled for May 9. Those who plan on taking part are asked to meet at the town offices from 8:00 am until 9:00 am, and the barbecue will begin at 11:00 am. Further details can be found on the town’s website.
