Time to get growing in Sherwood Park

February 23, 2017 by

Growing fruit, vegetables and other produce in the home garden can give people a measure of food security, and in Sherwood Park, an upcoming event will give the pubic an opportunity to learn more about how they can do just this.

During the community’s Seedy Sunday celebration, over 30 horticulture-related vendors and organizations from the local area will be gathering together in the event space of Salisbury Greenhouse. They will have displays set up where guests can purchase seeds and other products, and gather information that they can use in their own gardening efforts. Along with this, there will also be 14 sessions held throughout the day that will give further details about growing food, saving seeds, preserving the harvest and other topics that can help those who take part to get the most from their horticultural efforts. A printer can supply the businesses and groups that will be participating with customized promotional pens and other marketing items that they can give to those who stop by their display.

The talks are being offered to the attendees on a free-of-charge basis, and everyone is welcome to attend this family friendly event.

Seedy Sunday has been planned for March 12 at 52337 Range Road in Sherwood Park. Anyone who is interested in finding out more is invited to visit its Facebook page for additional details.
