The Stoney Creek School of Art was established in 1993. Their goal is “to encourage creative expression, exploration and imagination in the artistic learning of students of all ages.” Print companies in Stoney Creek are happy to highlight any organization that promotes creativity.

The school offers art courses for children, teens, and adults. They also offer special camps during March Break, PA Days, and Summer for children aged 4-15. Courses are separated under Kids and Teens, and Teens and Adults: Kids and Teen courses include training in drawing and painting, cartooning, crafts, sculpture and photography; Teen and Adult courses include training in acrylic painting and drawing techniques. Also, under Teens and Adult courses is the Open Studio which offers students the chance to work independently or with an instructor. Private lessons are also offered for all ages. The studio also host art birthday parties.

The Stoney Creek School of Art also hires volunteers from local high schools, colleges and universities to help teach some of their courses. Volunteers are repaid by getting experience teaching classes.

Many schools are now cutting back on art courses so organizations like the Stoney Creek School of Art are becoming more important. Art and creativity are extremely important. Training in the arts prepares a person for any type of work, not just employment in the arts. Art training teaches patience and the skills of concentration that helps in any business career.
