The Play On! Coquitlam street hockey tournament and sports festival is taking place for two days next month. It is hosted by Hockey Night in Canada and is a part of the Canada 150 celebrations.

The tournament is open to people of all ages and skills and each team can have from four to nine players. There will be both recreational and competitive divisions, as well as five separate conference or age and skill levels.

Levels include Tidbit Street for children age 7 and under (registration is $285 for a team of five and $45 for each additional player), Youth Street for those between the age of 8 and 19 ($325 for the team and $50 for each extra), and Adult Street is for both men and women aged 19 and over (the registration fee is $365 or $50 for each additional). Players must also pay an additional $10 each, for which they will receive a gift card in return. Each team will play a minimum of three games.

Families from all over Coquitlam will likely be interested in participating in this tournament. Organizers will likely distribute items such as posters and flyers to help spread the word.

Play On! Coquitlam will be held at the Coquitlam Centre from June 17 to 18. Call 1-844-752-9845 to learn more.
