Springtime is BBQ and chili time in Langley

January 24, 2017 by

Spicy and sizzling hot food will take pride of place during the 29th year of a well-loved Langley event.

The city will once again be playing host to The Canadian Festival of Chili and BBQ. It’s the largest competition of its kind in the whole country, and more than $15,000 in prizes will be up for grabs at this family-friendly celebration.

Upon arrival, members of the public who want to get in on the fun will be greeted and given a sample of chili or pulled pork by a firefighter who has volunteered to take part in the day. They will also receive a customized wrist band at which point a donation will be appreciated. The contribution will be collected and used to help support the Burn Fund, which is the festival’s charity of choice. Promotional products such as these wrist bands are often supplied by a printing services provider.

Once they enter the event, guests can browse through the displays, sample the food and enjoy the entertainment. The cook-offs will be held throughout the two days of the festivities.

The festival will be held in the Cascades Casino, Hotel and Convention Centre on May 6th and 7th. Anyone who is interested in entering, acting as a sponsor or volunteer or who just wants to enjoy the food is invited to visit the competition’s website for further details.
