Richmond Hill farmers’ market to return

The warmer days are on the way, and in Richmond Hill, that means it will soon be time for its Farmers’ Market to once again open its gates to the public.

The market, which runs from June until October, will include a huge assortment of vendors of fresh fruits, veggies, and other produce, all of it grown in the local area. Other agricultural products will also be available for purchase, including cut flowers, honey, plants and meats. Area crafters will also have booths set up to browse through, and there will be special activities just for the kids.

The market’s organizers are always interested in finding ways to make the market as great as it can be, and they welcome applications from people or businesses that grow or sell produce, handmade crafts and art, honey, and more. In an effort to make the process of applying to participate as simple as possible, the town has developed a set of guidelines and polices and also an application form. These can be found online, and a local print company can also provide hard copies of documents such as these.

The first of Richmond Hill’s Farmers’ Markets for 2017 has been planned for June 18 at Elgin Barrow Arena. More information and links to the vendor applications can be found on the community’s website.
