Richmond Hill actor stars in RENT
June 10, 2012 by Chloe
Toronto’s production of RENT, a rock opera musical that hit Broadway in 1996, stars one of Richmond Hill’s young actors. Aaron Sax is perfectly cast as Mark Cohen, one of the protagonists in the award-winning musical about a group of impoverished young artists and musicians who are struggling to survive and make it in New York City.
The 23-year-old actor has been performing since the age of 6 in a wide range of productions, with a focus on children’s theatre. He prefers the adrenaline rush of live theatre and the interaction with the audience, as opposed to film acting or tv shows. In RENT, his character is the narrator of the show and the roommate of two of the artists. Although it is a departure from children’s theatre, the actor can certainly relate to the role of a struggling artist.
Starring in RENT will open up a wide variety of opportunities for the young actor. The show opened on May 24, and has a one month production run.
Printing companies can design and produce attractive brochure printing for this type of production and creatively display a synopsis of the performance, actor and production crew biographies, and advertising. They can also assist with an actor’s resume and list of performances. A creative, attractive brochure printing or portfolio can highlight a performer’s best attributes, characteristics and productions.
Tickets for RENT can be purchased from the Lower Ossington theatre website or at the box office until June 16.
