Quilt Expo to bring warmth to Burnaby

January 18, 2017 by

The public is invited to find out more about quilts and how they are made during Burnaby’s upcoming Quilt Expo.

Quilting has long been used to craft bed coverings that are as beautiful as they are warm, and Edmond’s Community Centre will be hosting a huge exhibit of quilts, with many of them on loan from the Pacific Quilters Guild. There will also be live demonstrations of the craft, and the public will even have an opportunity to give it a try for themselves and try quilting a small piece that they can take home with them.

Experts in a variety of quilting techniques will be on hand to explain the process and answer questions from those who stop by to watch them in their work. There is no charge to participate, and people of all ages are welcome to come and learn more about this handcraft. Booklet printing can be used to create simple pattern guides and other instructional materials that can be given to anyone who comes to an event like this and wants to try their hand at making a project of their own at home.

The Quilt Expo has been planned for Saturday, March 5th from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm in the Edmonds Community Centre, which is located at 7433 Edmonds Street in Burnaby. Anyone who is interested in obtaining further details can do so through the city of Burnaby website.
