Ottawa bed race back for another year

January 14, 2017 by

This winter, up to 50 teams will once again be participating in an event that has become a traditional highlight of the Ottawa Winterlude festival.

The 2017 Accora Village Bed Race, which is being hosted as a fundraiser by the Kiwanis Club, will see participants in groups of four pushing a decorated and modified bed along a chilly course. Prizes will be awarded in several categories, including the best decorated bed, the fastest bed, and also for the team that is able to raise the most money. A printer can supply an event like this with everything from banners to registration forms, t-shirts, award certificates and trophies, swag for the participants and much more.

The funds raised will be used to help support the Kiwanis Club in community activities such as its Read A Thon, the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation and other projects undertaken or supported by the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa.

The race is open to anyone who would like to participate. People are encouraged to form a team of four, collect donations, decorate their bed and then, on the big day, put on their costumes and come ready to push.

The race will be held on February 11th on Dow’s Lake. Anyone who would like to register to take part or wants further information can find out more by visiting the event’s website.
