Obstacle course to challenge people of all ages

The Spartan Race Canada Vancouver Sprint is taking place next month.

This is an obstacle course race that covers 5K, through which participants must tackle 20 signature obstacles courses that will feature mud, rope, barbed wire, fire, and wall climbing.

In addition to the 5K, there will be four shorter races for children under the age of 14. The course for children aged 4 is 0.8KM, another 0.8KM is for children between 4 and 8, one is for children between the ages of 9 and 13 and is 1.5K, and the one for ages 11 to 13 is 3.2K.

There are both open and competitive divisions that include Elite Men and Elite Women. A total of 250 athletes will be started off at a time until all registered runners are on the course.

The fees to participate are $104 for Elite Men, $84 for Elite Women, and $99 for Competitive or $84 for the open division. Fees for the junior races range from $20 up to $35.

All participants will receive a medal and a T-shirt likely provided by a North Vancouver graphic design company.

The Vancouver Sprint will be held on June 10 at Mount Seymour Provincial Park from 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM. Tickets for spectators cost $15. For more in-depth information about the obstacle course, visit the Spartan Race Canada website.
