Nostalgia show and sale will have 200 tables

The Woodstock Nostalgia Show and Sale will take place on November 20 at the Woodstock Fairgrounds. It will take place in the Oxford Auditorium and the Mutual/Market and will offer 200 vendor tables. Admission is $5 and free for those under 12. Applications are being accepted for vendors who wish to take part; one table costs $55 to rent and two tables cost $105. Visitors are also encouraged to bring items they might want to sell to the various vendors.
Even if you don’t plan to sell or to buy, a nostalgia show is a great place to learn about the past. Items expected to be on display include postcards, vintage paper, old photographs, sports memorabilia, advertising signs, vintage clothing, entertainment memorabilia, antique furniture, old magazines and newspapers, sports cards, tins, comic books and records. For example, viewing the postcards will give you an idea of how postcard printing has changed throughout the years, seeing the vintage clothing will show you that styles are constantly being rediscovered and looking at old comic books will remind you of your childhood.
Nostalgia is a big thing these days. Everyone seems to want to get back to the past; to what they remember as a safer and friendlier time. Our view of the past is often tainted with nostalgia; things seem rosier and life seems to have been happier. However, we often realize that that is not true at all, that it is only human nature to remember only the good things and to lessen the importance of the bad
