Newmarket event will help participants become more social media savvy

More businesspeople are turning to social media to promote themselves and their company to potential clients and customers, and at an upcoming Newmarket event, they will have a chance to hone their skills when it comes to this now integral method of marketing.

The Newmarket Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Social Media Clinic where local companies and individuals will have an opportunity to receive help and advice about how they can put this powerful promotional tool to work for them.

People are encouraged to bring along their tablets or laptops so they can put what they have learned to use right away. A company that provides marketing services can combine traditional print media promotion with a company’s social media to create an extremely effective advertising campaign.

Part of the session will be dedicated to discussion amongst the attendees about the challenges they face when it comes to using this method of online promotion. There will also be a presentation by Oxygen Media’s Bob Minhas, who is an expert in the field. Afterwards, he will spend time answering questions for the group.

There is no fee to participate in the session, and everyone who feels they can benefit is welcome to attend. It will be held on January 24th at the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce, which is located at 470 Davis Drive. Those who plan on coming out are asked to register ahead of time, which can be done by visiting the Chamber’s website.
