Neighborhood upgrades to be the topic of upcoming Edmonton meeting

January 4, 2017 by

Residents of the Edmonton neighborhood of McKernan are invited to attend a meeting that will provide them with information about the community reconstruction efforts planned for this upcoming spring.

This will be the final public information session that will be held before the work starts up when winter is over. Members of the city’s staff will be on hand to discuss the final design plan that has been developed for the neighborhood, and will have drawings and other displays so that those who come out will be able to have a clear idea of what it will look like when complete.

In addition to an explanation of the improvements, which include enhancements for cyclists and pedestrians, the area’s property owners and other residents will have a chance to learn what to expect during the reconstruction process. Newsletter printing can be used to keep the public abreast of the latest developments in a large redevelopment project such as this.

This third McKernan Neighborhood Renewal Meeting has been scheduled to take place on February 9 in McKernan School starting at 6:30 pm. Everyone who will be affected by the work being undertaken as part of the project, and anyone else who is interested in taking part is welcome to attend, and more information can be obtained by emailing buildinggreatneighbourhoods@edmonton.ca or visiting the city’s website.
