Man Cave in Pickering town centre raises money for prostate cancer
December 22, 2011 by Stephen
There’s a new solution for men who hate following their significant others during holiday shopping missions at Pickering Town Centre – a retreat to the Men’s Den.
Designed exclusively for men, the east wing of the shopping centre offers comfy chairs as well as big screen TVs, football, action movies, exercise and hockey equipment, golf practice and other sports equipment for men to relax while their wives and girlfriends complete their shopping.
In addition to providing sports and bonding opportunities, the facility offers a gift concierge for indecisive men to help them shop for Christmas gifts as well as printed educational literature on prostate cancer. The Men’s Den also collects donations for prostate cancer and helps reach men about an important health issue in a comfortable setting where women are not around.
The new room is advertised on poster printings throughout Pickering Town Centre to encourage men to visit while their partners shop.
Newly opened on December 15, the Men Den’s opening launch was welcomed with male models showing off fashions from mall retailers as well as refreshments, sports and DJ entertainment. The den will remain open until December 24, so there’s little time left to make full use of this facility.
The den hopes to collect at least $5,000 in donations for prostate cancer as well as educate men of all ages on this important health issue with brochure printings and flyers that are available in the den.
Admission is free to men 18 years and older and absolutely no women are allowed.
