London based print company asked to help promote tourism

Southwestern Ontario is looking for a tourism and economic boost and is turning to a London print company to assist in its mandate. The Southwest Ontario Tourism Corporation (SOTC) will be using the services of London based media company experienced in local marketing to help market communities in the travel sector.
SOTC’s new marketing initiatives are based on social media preferences that online travellers express, and this will play a part in the new scheme. The new overall focus will include traditional marketing and newer market methods to encourage both travel and eventual business investments in the London and southwestern Ontario area.
The challenge will be to remove geographical barriers in customers and traveller minds and see the region as one destination to visit. The major campaign initiatives are expected to begin this in the spring, when the full marketing strategy will be in full force.
Social media plays an important role in marketing campaigns but is by no means the only effective method of marketing capable of reaching large audiences and encouraging tourism to the area. Poster printing or billboard printing in public venues, such as bus shelters or train stations, or even on buses, subways and train themselves are wonderfully effective places to get tourists moving to this area of Ontario.
Although it is unclear what the strategy will be yet, special publications, perhaps flyer printing or booklets promoting tourism are expected to be released by the Visitors Bureau, Chamber of Commerce and Tourist Boards of various communities.
