Lobsters to be the star of Calgary event

Calgary locals with a shellfish streak may wish to make plans now to attend an upcoming event where freshly flown in Maritime lobster will be the central attraction.

A lobster boil is a tradition in the country’s Atlantic provinces, and Rodney’s Oyster House will be hosting one that is open to the public. These tasty treats will be cooked in a house-made mirepoix, and when they are ready, they will be cracked open and served.

As with any kitchen-style party, there will be several side dishes as well, including potato salad and corn on the cob, and it can all be washed down with a bottle of Alexander Keith’s India Pale Ale.

The event has been planned to be fun for everyone, whether they have always lived in the area or they are a Maritimer who wants a taste of home. Graphic design can be utilized when planning an occasion such as this to craft themed decorations, signage, menus and other items that can add to the festive feel of the day.

Rodney’s Oyster House will be hosting its annual Alexander Keith Lobster Boil on May 11, and it will run from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. The event’s Facebook page contains additional information and an opportunity to purchase tickets, which have been priced at $65 each.
