The Alberta Women Entrepreneurs Annual Conference “Connecting to Success” will take place at the Matrix Hotel from May 2-4. Tickets are $600 for the full conference or $300 for one day; the price includes breakfast and lunch. The opening reception will take place on May 2 from 6-8:30 pm. Light refreshments will be served and tickets are $25.
The conference is the “premier Canadian event for female business owners to learn how to grow their business and increase their profitability through connections to elite networks and markets”. Donations of gently-used business clothing will be accepted at the conference; they will go to Suit Yourself which is a program for low income women who are looking for work. Suit Yourself will also be selling raffle tickets.
The conference will feature several successful female business leaders including Jessica Jackley, Denise LeClair, Charmaine Hammond, Shereen Miller and Tara Kelly. The keynote speaker is Michele Bailey who will share the story of her success in business. There will be seminars of such topics as government contracts, technology and HR in addition to panel discussions on topics like how to get business contracts and the power of HR.
There will also be a “service provider’s showcase” which will highlight businesses and programs of use to women entrepreneurs. Edmonton brochure printers will most likely be providing some of those “service provider’s” with literature to explain what it is they have to offer. Suit Yourself will also have a table where they will share details of what they offer to working women.
