Kitchener asked to help fill the local food bank’s shelves

Residents of Kitchener have been asked to open their hearts and be generous during this year’s Every Plate Full food drive.

The event, which is part of a wider effort that will take place all across the country, has a goal of raising enough money to provide 35,000 meals for those in need in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. Local businesses will also be lending their support to the cause by hosting their own fundraisers throughout the month of May and the early part of June.

In an effort to ensure that the campaign is a huge success, the organizers have put out a call for local enterprises to lend a helping hand. They have created a list of suggestions that businesses, no matter how large or small they may be, can make a difference. These range from using social media to spread the word, to hosting a food drive, to allocating a percentage of sales. Poster printing can be used to craft materials that can spread the word about an event such as this.

Every Plate Full events will take place in Kitchener throughout the month of May and the first week of June. Anyone who wants to see a full listing of the companies that will be participating, or who wishes to take part themselves is invited to visit the event’s website.
