It’s often hard to find something for the kids to do on the holiday break after Christmas; after all the excitement passes they start complaining about being bored. The Winter Carnival at the Woodstock Museum is the perfect remedy for bored kids. It’s hard for families where both parents have to work to find someone to take care of the children; the Winter Carnival is a great solution to that also. Your kids will be properly supervised in a safe environment.
The Winter Carnival will be running from January 2-January 6 from 9 am-4 pm and will feature lots of games, outdoor fun and crafts to keep kids busy all day. There will also be hot chocolate for them to enjoy. Registration costs $110 per person.
The Woodstock Museum resides in the refurbished 1853 Town Hall, which was Woodstock’s first municipal building. Many of the rooms at the museum are recreations of rooms in historic local buildings such as the Woodstock Council Chambers from 1879 and a barbershop. The museum runs many educational programs for children and adults such as Summer Day Camp and outreach programs the visit senior’s homes and community groups.
The museum also has a gift shop which features T-shirts, coffee mugs, key chains and postcards. Most likely the postcard printing and logo printing on items was done by local Woodstock are printers. Items like these help to ensure that the museum has adequate funding and allow visitors to take a little bit of Woodstock home with them.
