Holiday concert back in St. Catherines for another year

November 21, 2016 by

In honor of this year’s winter holiday season, St. Catherines will be hosting a traditional-style Christmas concert.

This will be the 26th year for the Annual Civic Christmas Carol Concert. It will feature talented young singers with the accompaniment of the St. Catherines Brass Ensemble, who will be playing some of the best-known seasonal music, and everyone in the audience is welcome to add their voices. A printer can design and produce holiday cards to help promote an event like this throughout the local community, which can go some way towards ensuring that it is a success.

Students from both Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School and Laura Secord Secondary School will be performing, with Peter M. Partridge conducting the show. The organ music will be played by Ross Stretton, who works with the city’s by-law enforcement team, and Brock University Chancellor Shirley Cheechoo will be addressing the audience with remarks about her feelings on the season.

The concert will be held on December 13 at 11:30 am in St. Thomas Church. Donations for Community Care of St. Catherines and Thorold will be gratefully accepted. Since the event first started back in 1990, it has been able to raise more than $100,000 in support of the organization.

More information about the holiday concert can be found on the city of St. Catherines website.
