Guidelines for a successful website
September 18, 2011 by Chloe
It is becoming increasingly essential for a business to have a website. The first place many people look for information on a business is the Internet, and it is imperative that a business has an appealing and helpful website. Most companies have learned that lesson and have websites, but sometimes those websites contain so little information that they are more harmful than helpful. You need to be able to conduct business through your website as much as you do through traditional methods like telephone, direct mail and face-to-face contact. Many companies have an attached sales section on their websites where products can be ordered directly. For example, some printing company websites allow you to design your own business stationery from a template, or upload your own, and have it delivered to you.
For those who need help getting their website going, the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce is conducting a training session called Checklist and Guidelines for a Successful Website; this training session is for those who have no experience at all with creating a website. . The session will be held on October 12 from 10 am to 12 pm and will be presented by Christina Maurice from Zoomized. Ms. Maurice will show you how to plan how you want your website to look and what content you want on it, how to purchase a domain name and hosting account and how to implement the content you will be featuring. If you attend this session you should leave with enough information to get your own website up and running.
