Fundraiser to benefit abused women and children

The 12th annual Yellow Brick House gala is taking place next month in Markham.

The evening celebration will start off with a cocktail reception where people can find out more about the Yellow Brick House. Special guests for the evening will be Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti and Perdita Felicien.

It will then be followed by a sit-down dinner, speeches and the awarding of the Corporate Commitment Award to an area businessperson.

Sponsorships are available for $5,000 up to $20,000. Sponsors will be recognized with their logo on any print advertising and in the program.

The Yellow Brick House provides services and programs to abused women and children. This includes skills development, legal services and counseling. The organization runs two shelters and a transitional house called Reta’s Place. In addition, it provides public education and outreach services.

It is likely that the organizers of this event will send out printed invitation to residents of Markham who have supported them in the past. These are usually provided by a local stationery printing firm.

The Yellow Brick House gala will be held at Le Parc Banquet Hall on March 3 from 5:30 to 10:00 pm. Tickets are $200 each and tables for eight are available. To find out more about this event and the Yellow Brick House, contact Rachael Sedman at 905-709-0900 x2255.
