The 6th annual Freeze the House Charity Bonspiel is taking place over three days next month in Red Deer. It is a fundraising event for Ronald McDonald House Charities Central Alberta.

Teams will compete over all three days in four divisions. The divisions are Junior (under 18), Beginner, Intermediate and Seasoned. For newcomers, there will be a learn to curl session. Several celebrity curlers will also be on hand including John Morris who a team can pay to take a shot for them.

There will also be several social events for participants including a Friday night mixer at Westerner Park and a Saturday night dinner and dance. The dinner and dance is set to feature guest speakers, a raffle and guest speakers who will talk about Ronald McDonald House. In addition, teams will receive breakfast each day.

Fees are $850 for a team of four which includes curling, breakfast and all social events or $250 for juniors which includes curling and breakfast.

Sponsorships are still available for purchase. It is likely that there will be banners and other printed materials at the Red Deer venue that will recognize the sponsors.

The Freeze the House Charity Bonspiel will be held at the Pidherney Curling Center from February 3 to 5. Contact Rhanda Bonet-Graham at 403-340-2007 for more information or to become a sponsor.
