The Whisky and Wine Festival is taking place next month in Red Deer. It is a fundraiser for the MS Society, Central Alberta Chapter.

Guests will have the opportunity to taste various wines and whiskies while enjoying gourmet appetizers. When people find a wine or whisky that they would like to purchase, vendors will supply them with order sheets.

There will also be masterclasses for general admission and for VIP. The first one begins at 7:00 PM and is led by B. J. Tumanut. Entitled ‘Sparkling Wine’, guests will enjoy samples of wine as well as chocolate. The VIP Masterclass starts at 8:00 PM and is titled ‘No Age Statement: Whisky’s New Frontier’, and will be taught by Matt Buck.

All guests will receive a souvenir Glencairn crystal whisky glass and an event program. Proceeds from this event will go to various local programs for sufferers of MS and their families.

It is very likely that the event program will be supplied by a Red Deer stationery printing company.

The Whisky and Wine Festival will be held at the Red Deer Golf and Country Club on January 17 from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. General admission tickets are $95 and VIP are $120; masterclasses are limited to 30 attendees. For more information about this event or the MS Society, Central Alberta Chapter, call 403-346-0290.
