Full Family Day of fun planned for Whitby

December 29, 2016 by

This February, Whitby will be marking the Family Day holiday with an assortment of activities for both the young and the young at heart.

The day of free fun will kick off with the Scotiabank Family Skate, which will be followed by one for parents and children under seven. After this, pond hockey fans will be able to take to the ice, and then there will be another family skate for people of all ages. This will all take place in the Des Newman Arena Complex Iroquois Sports Centre.

A hockey skate will also be held in the afternoon at the Luther Vipond Memorial Arena. Children under seven are required to wear their full protective hockey gear if they wish to participate.

For those who prefer to stay indoors, the Whitby Civic Recreation Complex will be hosting a day of swimming, family fitness, and also arts and crafts for the younger kids. As with the skating, it is all being offered with no admission price. Newsletter printing can be used to create community bulletins that can help to make sure the public is aware when events like this are being held.

All of this physically active family fun will happen on Monday, February 15th in Whitby. It is being offered courtesy of a sponsorship form Scotiabank, and more details and a full schedule of activities can be found on the Town of Whitby website.
