Find gifts at The Not-so-mini Print Exhibition and Exchange
December 18, 2011 by Stephen
The Not-so-mini Print Exhibition and Exchange will be running at the Alberta Printmakers Society’s Artist Proof Gallery until December 22. This is a non-juried show and sale and all artworks will be $30 for one or $50 for two. The gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 am-4 pm and admission is free.
All printmakers interested in taking part were asked to submit ten 15’x 11” handmade prints to the exhibition. The proceeds of the show go towards Alberta Printmakers Society educational and artistic programs. The Society also provides a printmaking studio and exhibition space for local artists.
If you buy your friends or family prints from this exhibition you can introduce them to a local Calgary artist; local
printing companies might also discover a new and undiscovered printmaker whom they would like to work with. Graphic design plays a big part in the design of any marketing products such as flyers, brochures, business cards and, of course, posters.
Buying a gift for a friend or family member can also be a difficult task; sometimes they seem to have everything already. You can be almost guaranteed that if you buy a print or two at the Not-so-mini Print Exhibition and Exchange that they will not already have one by any of these artists and they may also discover a new favourite artist. The holidays are rapidly approaching so if you haven’t finished your Christmas shopping you might want to check out the exhibition.
