Family art workshop on the way for New Westminster

March 27, 2017 by

New Westminster families that are looking for an activity that all ages can enjoy are invited to come to the ‘Cut, Paste, Action’ workshop that has been planned for the River Market at Westminster Quay.

The session, which will be focused on creating art using the camera, will put the spotlight on how photography can capture images of the human body in motion, and also how its parts, such as the eye, hands and faces make up the whole. Participants will learn about the techniques used by two well-known photographic artists, and they will then have an opportunity to try them out on their own. They will also be encouraged to craft their very own collage to take home with them.

The event is being offered as part of the city’s Capture Photography Festival, and it is open to people of all ages. Two sessions that run for 45 minutes each will be offered, and there is no fee being charged to participate. A digital printing service can be used by those who plan an event like this to create an assortment of materials that can promote it to the community.

The sessions will be held on April 30, and it is part of the Artstarts program. They will begin at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm, and anyone who would like to take part is advised to arrive early to ensure they get a spot. Additional details have been added to the Rivermarket website.
