Edmonton residents invited to travel back to Regency times

This upcoming holiday season, an event will be held in Edmonton that will give people an opportunity to take a step back in time to the Regency period.

A ‘Jane Austen Experience: Regency Hymn Service and Candlelit Holiday Tea 3.0’ will take guests back to the early 1800s. There will be traditional songs performed by The Pemberly Singers, as well as a candlelit tea service, which will be held in the Upper Hall.

Steeped Tea will provide a loose-leaf blend for the occasion, which will be served in bone china cups and saucers, and a light dinner of white soup and period-appropriate hors d’ouvres will be served. While guests enjoy their meal, there will be Regency period music, as well as readings from Jane Austen’s works. A banner printing company can produce decorations that would be appropriate to an event such as this.

Those who would like to come dressed in period clothing are highly encouraged to do so. The organizers have noted that semi-formal attire will also be appropriate.

The event will be held on December 11 at 10037 84 Avenue Northwest in Edmonton. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $45 or $50 at the door. Only 70 will be available, so those who are interested may wish to buy theirs as soon as possible to avoid being disappointed.
