Edmonton event to highlight mental health

Supporting mental health in the community will be the focus of an upcoming morning event that will be taking place in Edmonton later this year.

The Mental Health Foundation will be holding a breakfast in support of mental health. An assortment of experts will be on hand to address the attendees, and will be presenting information about the latest innovations in treatment and technology in the field of mental illness.

In addition to this, it is hoped that those who come to the function will also walk away with a better understanding of the challenges that are faced by those coping with mental health issues. The planners of a function such as this can have customized presentation folders of information prepared to give to each person who takes part.

Tickets for the function are $75 each, and tables of eight can be reserved for $500. The monies raised through the morning meeting and meal will be used to help fund the purchase of transformative equipment. According to the event’s organizers, this will help tens of thousands of people from all across the city. An assortment of sponsorship opportunities are available for local businesses, and anyone who is interested is asked to get in touch with Mark Korthuis at mark.kortuis@ahs.ca.

The Mental Health Foundation 2017 Breakfast will be held on March 1 in the Shaw Conference Centre. Those who wish to find out more can do so on the organizer’s website.
